Kankai Rubber Industries is set to come into operation in Jhapa with an investment of Rs 20 crores. The rubber industry has been established 30 years after the start of rubber cultivation in Nepal in Kankai Municipality-7, Jhapa.
Investors in Kathmandu and Jhapa have set up Kankai Rubber Industries in partnership realizing the need to run the industry in the country as rubber cultivation is flourishing. Currently, rubber is being cultivated in about 700 hectares in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari.
The rubber industry, which is spread over 1.5 bighas of land, has stated that it will buy rubber chops produced by farmers from this year. The industry is going to process one thousand liters of rubber chop per hour.
In the first phase, the industry will produce the sludge and rubber sole. Footwear industries in Nepal are expected to use the sole and sole produced here. In the second phase, the industry aims to produce globes for medical use and mats for home use.
There are two types of rubber produced in the world. Rubber is being produced by processing petroleum minerals and planting rubber seedlings. The rubber produced by planting seedlings is in high demand all over the world as it is natural.
Rubber is also needed to make airplane tires and tubes from bicycles. Nepal has been importing billions of rubber annually. But if rubber farming and its based industries continue to open up, large-scale imports are likely to be replaced. Rubber plants grow in hot areas. Natural rubber is produced by extracting milk-like chops from its base and processing the collected chops.
Gorakhkali is the first rubber industry in Nepal established in Gorkha in 2046 BS. The industry had to depend on Jhapa’s raw material as rubber farming did not flourish in Gorkha. Later, the Gorakhkali rubber industry collapsed due to various reasons.
