Lockdown Extended Until Ashad 7 In Kathmandu Valley

The lockdown issued in Kathmandu Valley has been extended for one week. A joint meeting of the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Sunday decided to extend the ban by one week by relaxing some provisions. The meeting has extended the lockdown from Ashad 1 to Ashad 7, 2078 BS

Food shops, department stores, fruit, milk, vegetable, drinking water and gas shops will remain open till 11 am during this period. Essential goods online and take away service for home delivery purposes will be available in Kathmandu Valley till 7 pm. Construction materials shop can operate after 4 pm.

The ban on public and private vehicles operating across the Kathmandu Valley will remain in place during the extended period. Emergency services related to ambulance, drinking water and waste management will be available with banners. Vehicles for transporting construction materials will be allowed to operate from 9 pm to 5 am.

Meetings, conferences, seminars, trainings, cinema halls, party palaces, dance bars, rehearsal and dance clubs, swimming pools, shopping malls, amusement parks, salons, beauty parlors, health clubs, futsal, gym house, library, museum, zoo, stadium will not be allowed to operate. Crowds, gatherings, processions, festivals and banquets are prohibited.

Commercial banks, development banks and financial companies will be able to conduct banking transactions by managing a limited number of branches and employees as per the criteria set by Nepal Rastra Bank.
