Lower Irkhuwakhola Hydropower Project: Banks To Invest Rs 1.68 Arba

Lower Irkhuwakhola hydropower project under construction in Bhojpur, will receive an investment of Rs 1.68 Arba from banks. Nepal SBI Bank and Jyoti Bikas Bank, led by Machhapuchchhre Bank, will invest Rs 1.68 Arba in the project. Lower Irkhuwa Hydropower company and the bank have recently signed an agreement to provide the loan. National Hydropower Company Limited is the main promoter of the company.

The project will generate 7.50 crore units of electricity annually. The estimated annual revenue from the sale of electricity is Rs 43 crores. The project aims to generate electricity in 2079 BS. The promoter company and other investors will raise Rs. 70 crores for the construction of the project. For this, the company is going to issue an IPO worth Rs. 21 crores in the coming fiscal year 2078/79. Proceeds from this will be spent on project construction.

The company has projected to pay the principal and interest of the loan taken from the banks within 12 years of its operation.
