Lower Modi Hydropower Project Begins Commercial Electricity Generation

Lower Modi Hydropower Project has started commercial electricity generation from Modi Khola of the Parbat district. The project, which has a power house in Kushma Municipality-8 and a dam in Bajung of Modi Village Municipality-5, has started commercial production in the first nine years of construction.
The project was started in Shrawan 2069 BS. The project had a purchase agreement with Nepal Electricity Authority in Bhadra 2068 BS. The construction of the project was delayed more than 4 years due to earthquake, blockade, compensation disputes, damage to equipment etc.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3.60 Arba. The electricity generated from the project is connected to the national transmission through the substation of 132 KVA transmission line at Patichaur.
