Lumbini State Government Unveils Policies & Programs For FY 2078/79

The Lumbini state government has presented the policies and programs for the fiscal year 2078/79 BS. The government’s policy and program was presented by state chief Dharmanath Yadav in the state assembly on Tuesday. The policies and programs give priority to health, agriculture and employment to boost the economy that has been weakened by the Corona epidemic.
The government has brought the policy and program a week before the presentation of the budget on Ashad 1. In the policies and programs, the government has stated that in order to make the health service effective in epidemic including COVID-19, provision of infrastructure, medicines, health equipment and adequate manpower as well as specialist doctors and health workers will be encouraged to work in remote areas.
The policy and program includes setting up of Ayurvedic hospitals in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) and Rukum East, setting up of NICUs in districts with high obstetric pressure and free testing of pregnant women, setting up of HDUs in all hospitals in the state.
Trauma centers in Dang, dialysis hospitals in Pyuthan and Gulmi, and well-equipped hospitals in Bhaluwang are among the priorities of the policies and programs. In order to create employment opportunities in the country towards agriculture, easy loan facilitation in agriculture and interest subsidy program have been given priority.
The state education policy will be formulated for the transformation of the education sector along with formulation of necessary criteria and procedures.
Of the 35 road bridges operated under conditional grant from the Government of Nepal and 119 road bridges under construction with the grant from the state government, at least 101 road bridges will be completed in the coming fiscal year, said Yadav.
