Nagdhunga-Naubise Tunnel Road Project to complete in 42 months: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced that the government has planned to finish the construction of Nagdhunga-Naubise tunnel road in 42 months. On the occasion of the foundation laying ceremony on Monday, PM Oli said that the government will work toward completing the project within the given timeline. In addition, other tunnel projects such as Tokha-Chhahare and Betrawati-Syafrubesi are also in consideration.

More than 1,600 km of the road are already blacktopped this year, said the PM. Construction of such length of roads has not taken place in the history of Nepal, he further added. Prime Minister concluded that such tunnel roads need to be developed in Nepal in order to make traveling easier for the tourists.

With support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the tunnel project has commenced from Monday.
