National Microfinance Laghubitta Proposes 38.5 Percent Dividend

National Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMFBS) has announced dividend to the shareholders. The dividend is from the fiscal year 2078/79.

The microfinance has proposed a 38.5 percent dividend. The total dividend will be in the form of bonus shares. The company will distribute the bonus share worth Rs. 22.58 crores.

Shareholders maintained before the merger with Mahila Sahayatra Laghubitta don’t have to pay tax for the bonus shares. However, shareholders who purchased the shares of NMFBS after the merger have to pay the tax for the dividend themselves.

The dividend is subject to approval from Nepal Rastra Bank and the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

From the previous fiscal year 2077/78, National Microfinance Laghubitta had distributed a 45 percent dividend, including a 40 percent bonus share and a 5 percent cash dividend.

As of Ashad’s end 2079 BS, NMFBS has a current paid-up capital of Rs. 58.66 crores. After the inclusion of the bonus share, the capital will increase to Rs. 81.24 crores.
