Government Spending At Rs. 234 Billion In 3 Months Period

The government spending stood at Rs. 234 billion until the first quarter of the current Fiscal Year 2078/79. This is about 14.3 percent of the target. The government spent only Rs 89 billion in the first two months, while it spent about Rs 145 billion in Ashwin, according to the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General.

In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, the government had spent Rs. 201 billion. Out of the Rs 15.05 billion spent on capital expenditure in the first quarter of last year, only Rs 14.88 billion has been spent this year.

Similarly, Rs. 186 billion has been spent on current expenditure in the first three months of this fiscal year. Likewise, Rs. 33 billion has been spent on financial management. In the corresponding period of the previous year, the government had spent Rs. 182 billion on current expenditure and Rs. 3 billion on financial management.

The government has collected revenue of Rs 255 billion in the first quarter. This is Rs 83 billion more than last fiscal year.
