NIC Asia Laghubitta Bittiya Santha Limited (NICLBSL) has reported a sharp fall in net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2079/80. The profit has plunged by 68 percent as compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The microfinance earned a profit of Rs. 6.57 crores in the first three months of the current fiscal year. In the first quarter of the previous fiscal year, the net profit stood at Rs. 20.67 crores.
The drop in profit is due to fall in net interest income by more than 31 percent. The company earned Rs. 29.02 crores as net interest income, down from Rs. 42.11 crores of the same period last year.
As of Ashwin’s end 2079 BS, NIC Asia Laghubitta has a paid-up capital of Rs. 173.94 crores. Likewise, the company has a total reserve and surplus of Rs. 166.81 crores.
The microfinance has floated the loans of Rs. 21.55 Arba, a slight increment as compared the corresponding period of the previous year.
