Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is going to implement the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system from Friday (Baisakh 3, 2078 BS). NOC will test the system from Baisakh to Ashad and fully implement it from the start of the new fiscal year 2078/79.
The ERP system is being implemented to make monitoring and regulation effective. The corporation will also work through the ERP system to minimize leakage and technical losses during the transportation of petroleum products. All the work of the corporation will be taken to an electronic (digitized) system.
The ERP system is a reliable technology used by most fuel producers and distributors around the world, the corporation said. It is claimed that it will regulate the market of petroleum products in Nepal. Indian Oil Corporation has also implemented an ERP system. This will reduce the corporation’s expenses and increase its revenue. Unnecessary expenses and manpower will be managed.
From the ERP system, the day-to-day operations of the corporation’s provincial offices, depots, and departments across the country will come under the integrated information system. The corporation has invested around Rs 25 crores in the ERP system.
