July 26, 2024 | Investopaper
Nepal Rastra Bank has announced a review of the existing loan limit of NPR 10 million for micro, small, and medium enterprises. This update is part of the monetary policy for the fiscal year 2081/82, released on Friday. The review aims to assess and potentially adjust the current limit.
Additionally, the bank will extend the deadline for the Variance Analysis required for adjusting working capital loans. This extension will come into effect from Shrawan 1, 2082.
Under the revised policy, the bank will also introduce new guidelines. Specifically, loans for micro, small, and medium enterprises, agriculture, and industries based on domestic raw materials will have their interest rates determined without adding a premium of more than 2 percentage points to the base rate. The policy will now include additional sectors such as agriculture support industries, agricultural tools production, information technology, and tourism, focusing on enhancing internal production.
