Palun Khola Hydropower To Develop 21 MW Project In Taplejung

Palun Khola Hydropower is planning to build a 21 MW Palun Khola hydropower project in Taplejung. The project will be built using water flow from the Palun river in Mikwakhola Rural Municipality of Taplejung.

The feasibility study of the project has been completed. The process of obtaining the construction license has reached the final stage.

Before issuing the license, the department of electricity development had sought opinions and suggestions from the concerned stakeholders about the adverse effects that may occur during the construction and operation of the project. The department had requested the stakeholders to send their opinions and suggestions within 35 days from the date of issue of the notice.

After the completion of construction, the project will produce 126.58 gigawatt hours of electricity annually. The generated electricity will be connected to the Dhunge Sanghu substation of Nepal Electricity Authority in Taplejung district through a 21 km long 132 kV double circuit transmission line.
