World Bank To Provide $150 Million In Financial Aid

World Bank has announced about 17 billion rupees (150 million dollars) in aid for the rehabilitation of the area affected by the Corona epidemic. The aid was announced with the aim of providing security and sustainable development in areas most at risk from epidemics. 

Faris Hadad, Country Director of the World Bank for Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, analyzed the economic and social impact of the epidemic and said that the World Bank has decided to provide immediate relief  and inclusive rehabilitation to the affected population.

According to him, the assistance will strengthen institutions and regulation including tax and customs system, debt management and public capital expenditure and will help in growth, rehabilitation and reliable development. It will address immediate health care for the private sector as well as provide modern social security, increase access to capital and support digital solutions.
