4.6 MW Super Machha Khola Hydropower Project Secures Loan Financing from Rastriya Banijya Bank

The Super Machha Khola Hydropower Project, a 4.6 MW run-of-river project in the Dharche Rural Municipality-4 of Gorkha District, Nepal, has secured investment from Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited through a loan agreement. The investment agreement was formalized with signatures from Khagendra Neupane, Chairman of Budhigandaki Hydropower Pvt. Ltd., and Devendra Raman Khanal, Chief Executive Officer of the bank.
The project, estimated to cost approximately Rs. 96.38 crores, will be financed through a mix of 70 percent debt and 30 percent equity. Rastriya Banijya Bank will provide Rs. 67.46 crores in debt financing, with the remaining Rs. 28.91 crores covered by equity investment.
The Super Machha Khola Hydropower Project is expected to generate 27.379 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, with 18.621 gigawatt-hours produced during the wet season and 8.75 gigawatt-hours during the dry season.
The project, slated for completion within 18 months, has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) dated Ashad 21, 2080 BS.
