Ganesh Himal Hydropower To Build 20 MW Ankhu Khola-2 Hydropower Project In Dhading

Ganesh Himal Hydropower Pvt Ltd is planning to develop a 20 MW Ankhu Khola-2 hydropower project in Dhading. The process of receiving the construction permit for the project has reached the final stage. 

The Department Of Electricity Development is going to issue the construction license to the promoter company on the basis of the environmental impact assessment report and study report of the project approved by the Ministry of Forest and Environment. The company had submitted the application to the department for the construction license on Karthik 26, 2078 BS.

Before issuing the license, the Department has issued a notice requesting the stakeholders to submit written opinions/suggestions within 35 days if there is any adverse impact due to the construction and operation of this project.

Feasibility study and preliminary environmental test report of the proposed project have been prepared. According to the report, the project will be constructed on the Ankhu River flowing through Khanianbas Rural Municipality-4, Ganga Jamuna Rural Municipality-3 and 4, Netrawati Dabjong Rural Municipality-1 of Dhading. The main structures of the project will be on the right bank of the river. 

The project is based on river flow. Its design flow will be 27.73 cubic meters per second and the total head will be 91 meters. 

The project will produce 122.16 GWh of electricity annually. The generated energy will connected to the national grid through a 5 km transmission line through the Nepal Electricity Authority’s proposed Lapang substation.
