February 2, 2020 | Investopaper

Apple has decided to temporarily shut down all its stores in China through February 9 amidst coronavirus fear. The decision was made after the leading health experts advised the company to do so. The company is closing all its corporate offices, stores and contact center in China. This could delay the sale of up to 1 million iPhones in the Chinese market.

Releasing the statement on Saturday, the company said- “Our thoughts are with the people most immediately affected by the Coronavirus and with those working around the clock to study and contain it.”

The company will keep on monitoring the situation so that it can open the stores as soon as possible. China is one of the key growth areas for Apple as it shipped 3.2 million iPhones in China through December.
