Banks To Open One Branch In Each District In Kathmandu Valley

Only one branch of a bank will be opened in three districts of Kathmandu Valley during the curfew period. The Bankers’ Association has decided to open only one branch of each bank in a district from Friday to comply with the ban imposed by the District Administration Office.
“Only one branch of each bank will be opened daily in the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley,” said Anil Sharma, executive director of the Bankers’ Association. From Friday, the employees of the bank will be able to move around on the basis of the identity card of the office.
It has been decided not to call more than 30 employees in one bank in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley every day, said Bankers’ Association President Bhuvan Dahal. “The risk of covid is high. We have tried to reduce the customer crowd to avoid the risk,” he said.
NRB has also directed to provide basic services by operating as few branches as possible with minimum staff. The central bank directed to maintain basic (cash deposit / payment, bank transfer, check clearing etc.) during this period. NRB issued the instruction in a notification on Wednesday.
The Home Ministry has instructed the local administration not to stop the employees of the bank from moving around the office. The Home Ministry has given the instruction after all the banks in the Kathmandu Valley were closed on Thursday due to obstruction in the movement of employees. The ministry has asked not to obstruct the movement on the basis of the identity card issued by the office.
