Himalayan Bank (HBL) was established in 1993 A.D. in joint venture with Habib Bank Limited of Pakistan. It is one of the pioneer banks in the Nepalese Banking industry. Established at an initial capital of Rs 6 crores in 1993, the bank has grown into one of the largest commercial banks of Nepal. As of Ashad’s end 2080 BS, Himalayan Bank’s paid-up capital stood at Rs 21.65 Arba.

Since its inception, Himalayan Bank has provided satisfactory returns to the shareholders in the form of dividend. The bank has distributed the highest dividend of 75 percent since fiscal year 2055/56.
