Effect of M/A: 347 BFIs Merged to Form 110 Institutions

A total of 347 Banks and Financial Institutions (BFIs) have been merged to form 110 BFIs.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) introduced the Merger Bylaw 2068 (2011) to encourage all BFIs for the merger and acquisitions.
As of Chaitra’s end, 2080 BS, the total number of banks and financial institutions is 110, including 20 commercial banks, 17 development banks, 17 finance companies, 55 microfinance financial institutions and one infrastructure development bank.
