Inland Revenue Office Birgunj Collects Revenue Of Rs 8.14 Billion

The Inland Revenue Office Birgunj, Parsa has collected revenue of Rs. 8.14 billion in the fiscal year 2077/78. The Department has set a target of collecting Rs. 9.81 billion for the fiscal year 2077/78, but only Rs. 8.14 billion has been collected. This is 17.6 percent or Rs 1.67 billion less than the target. The office has managed to collect only 82.4 percent of the target.
Similarly, 15,606 new taxpayers have been added to the Inland Revenue Office Birgunj in the last fiscal year 2077/78. Likewise, 3,481 institutional PAN registrations, 945 VAT registrations, 10,699 individual PAN registrations, 227 excise registrations, and 254 government bodies have been registered.
The number of individuals and firms contributing to the revenue collection of the Inland Revenue Office Birgunj has reached 102,653 with the addition of 15,606 new taxpayers in the previous fiscal year 2077/78.
According to Sunil Kumar Yadav, Chief Tax Officer at the Inland Revenue Office, Birgunj, the office has waived other taxes and fines if the taxpayer pays the prescribed tax, 90 percent tax exemption for small taxpayers doing business of less than Rs 2 million, 75 percent discount for those doing business transaction between Rs 2 to Rs 5 million, and 50 percent discount scheme for those doing Rs 50 to Rs 100 million transactions.
