Manakamana Cable Car Enters Into 25th Year Of Operation

Manakamana cable car, Nepal’s first cable car, has completed its 24th year of operation and successfully entered its 25th year.

The company claims that the cable car has has provided the service to about 17 million passengers and devotees so far.

Manakamana cable car is being upgraded from existing Analogue technology to Doppelmayr’s D-Connect Digital technology. The first phase of work has been completed and on the occasion of the 25th annual ceremony, it has been completely converted into a digital system. It has become the first digital cable car system in the country. 

After the operation of the cable car, the Manakamana area has been established as a major tourist destination, and the business activities of this area have increased significantly.

Devotees and locals use cable cars to visit the Manakamana temple. The cable car connecting Kurintar of Prithvi Highway and Manakamana of Gorkha came into operation from Mangsir 8, 2055 BS.
