Maula Kalika Hydropower To Develop 38.17 MW Kalika Kaligandaki Hdropower Project

Maula Kalika Hydropower Company Pvt. Ltd is planning to construct the 38.17 MW Kalika Kaligandaki hydropower project. The project is a Peaking Run of the River (PROR) type project that will be built on Kaligandaki river. 

After completing the feasibility study, the company has sought approval along with the preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report. Once the EIA is approved, the company is ready to proceed with the construction. 

The hydropower project will produce an average annual energy of 233.34 gigawatt hours. Out of which, 163.72 GWh will be generated in wet season and 69.62 GWh will be produced in the dry season.

The power house will be constructed on the left bank of Kaligandaki river. The intake area will be located on the left bank of the confluence of Thakpa River and Kaligandaki River near Tasi village.

A 10 km long single circuit transmission line from the proposed power plant will be connected to the New Bharatpur substation in Chitwan. 

The estimated cost of the project is Rs.  8.75 billion.
