Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Preparing To Sell 25 Percent Shares In Public Offering (IPO)

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) is planning to issue shares to the public (IPO). The company is preparing to issue 25 percent shares in the public offering.
At present, the major promoters of NEPSE include- Government of Nepal (58.66 percent), Nepal Rastra Bank (14.60 percent), Employees Provident Fund (10 percent), Rastriya Banijya Bank (6.15 percent) , Laxmi Bank (5 percent) and Prabhu Bank (5 percent).
With the possibility of providing license to the new stock exchange to be operated by private sector, NEPSE is moving ahead with issuing shares to public.
In recent years, as the index and the volume of transactions has surged, the income of Nepal Stock Exchange has been increasing. Nepse has distributed 166 percent dividend from previous fiscal year including a 66.60 percent bonus shares. With the issue of bonus shares, the capital of Nepal Stock Exchange has reached Rs 1 billion.
