All the commercial banks have published their report of the first quarter of the current fiscal year i.e. 2076/77. In the first three months, commercial banks have recorded a total profit of Rs. 16.17 Arba. The total profit of the banks stood at Rs. 15.41 Arba in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2075/76.
Among the 28 commercial banks, Rastriya Banijya Bank has earned the highest profit with Rs. 112.70 crores. Likewise, Nabil Bank is a close second with a net profit of Rs. 112.30 crores in the 3 months period.
Similarly, NIC Asia Bank with its aggressive growth in business has occupied the third spot in terms of net profit. The bank earned a profit of Rs. 100.96 crores, becoming one of the only 3 banks in the billionaire club.
Nepal Investment Bank has fallen into fourth place with a decline in profit to Rs. 84.44 crores. Likewise, NMB Bank has reported a profit of Rs. 81.51 crores after the merger with Om Development Bank, thereby occupying No. 5 spot.
Civil Bank ranks last among the 28 banks with a net profit of Rs. 15.89 crores in the three months.
