NRB Tightens Import Of Gold

Nepal Rastra Bank has reduced the gold import limit as foreign exchange reserves is declining. The central bank issued a notice on Sunday stating that only 10 kg of gold can be imported daily. 

Earlier, the quota for importing gold was up to 20 kg per day. Lately, the price of gold has been increasing along with the import. The central bank had already tightened its grip on silver imports.

The Department of Foreign Exchange Management of the Bank has issued a circular by amending the Section (4) of the Rules of Procedure on Gold Sale and Distribution, 2068 BS.
