Birgunj Customs Collects Rs 121.72 Billion In Revenue

The country’s largest customs office, Birgunj, has collected a total of Rs. 121.72 billion until the seven months in the current fiscal year 2078/79. This is about Rs 33.22 billion more than the same period of the previous year. 

According to the Birgunj customs office, about 61 percent of the target has been achieved until now. The customs office has the target of collecting Rs 198.18 billion in revenue in the fiscal year 2078/79.

In the first 7 months of this fiscal year, the office has achieved 37.50 percent growth in the revenue collection as compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2077/78, Birgunj custom had collected a total of Rs 88.50 billion in revenue in the seven months period.

Diesel, petrol, vehicles, LP gas, soybean, palm, crude sunflower oil, MS billet, HR sheet, HR strips, soybean, polythene granules, mobile lubricants, readymade garments, bus-truck chassis, and other goods are being imported from Birgunj. About 800 trucks are importing goods from the checkpoint daily and about 100 trucks are exporting goods.
