Likhu A Hydropower Project (29.04 MW) Starts Commercial Electricity Generation

Likhu A Hydropower Project has started commercial electricity generation. The project, developed by Numbur Himalaya Hydropower Pvt. Ltd, has an installed capacity of 29.04 MW. The project is constructed in the Likhu River flowing through the border of Solukhumbu and Ramechhap districts.
The commercial production has started after completing the entire testing work. The electricity generated from the project has been connected to the national grid through a 132 kV transmission line from Bukudovan to New Khimti sub-station in Manthali Municipality-13 of Ramechhap. Nepal Electricity Authority has an agreement to purchase the electricity generated from the project.
The project will generate 150.43 GWh electricity annually, out of which, 126.86 GWh will be produced in rainy season and 23.57 GWh will be generated in dry season.
Numbur Himalaya Hydropower Private Limited, mainly promoted by MV Dugar group, was established in on August 21, 2007 to develop the 29.04 MW Likhu A Hydropower Project.
MV Dugar Group is developing three hydropower projects including Likhu A Project in Likhu river adjacently. The work of two other projects under construction on Likhu Khola- 77 MW Likhu 1 and 55 MW Likhu 2 projects is in full swing.
