Rs 45.09 Billion Allocated For Agriculture Sector

The government has increased the budget for the agricultural sector. Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2078/79, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has allocated Rs. 45.09 billion has been allocated for the development of agriculture and livestock sector. Similarly, a budget of Rs. 12 billion has been allocated for the purchase of chemical fertilizers for agriculture.
The government has taken the policy of providing necessary facilities to promote organic farming. Accordingly, Finance Minister Poudel has committed to provide 50 percent subsidy for the construction of food stores.
The government is preparing to set up land banks in each state and bring them into operation in the coming fiscal year. Likewise, Finance Minister Poudel said that all lands will be mapped within the next three years.
