Loan Financing for 102 MW Upper Marsyangdi A Hydroelectric Project Secured

A significant investment has been secured for the 102-megawatt Upper Marsyangdi A Hydroelectric Project located in Lamjung.

Various banks have signed agreements to invest a total of Rs. 16 billion in this project, which is promoted by the Upper Marsyangdi Hydropower Company.

According to details provided by the promoter, Laxmi Sunrise Bank will contribute Rs. 7 billion, Global IME Bank Rs. 6 billion, and Prabhu Bank Rs. 3 billion.

The total estimated cost of the project is Rs. 21.4 billion, with bank loans covering approximately 74.77 percent of the investment and the equitycontributing the remaining 25.23 percent.

The project has already obtained its power purchase agreement and construction license. It aims to complete construction within the next four years and is expected to generate an annual output of approximately 583.03 gigawatt-hours of energy.
