$138 billion man Jeff Bezos to divorce his wife

January  10, 2019 | Investopaper

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who stands in a pole position with $138 billion worth as a world’s richest man  has announced  separation with his wife MacKenzie Bezos on Thursday. This news has created a huge buzz since the divorce might leave Jeff Bezos to lose his position as the world’s richest man.

On the other hand, this might make Mrs. Bezos the richest woman in the planet if they split the money into half. On doing so, she will be receiving $69 billion. This has also brought the investors of Wall Street into some doubt that the control may be shifted from Bezos once the divorce settlement is made.

The announcement was made by the pair on Twitter which said-“After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends.”

The New York Post and the Enquirer later reported that the Amazon CEO has been on a relation with Lauren Sanchez. She is the wife of  Hollywood talent agent Patrick Whitesell, previously working as a TV anchor and helicopter pilot. They also tweeted that they would expose the reason for their split hour before the announcement was made by the pair.

Lately, Amazon.com went past Microsoft in the wall street to become the most valuable company this week. Jeff Bezos has profited massively from Amazon shares that he holds.
