82 MW Lower Solu Khola Hydropower project Reports 95 Percent Physical Progress

The 82-megawatt Lower Solu Khola Hydropower project, situated in the Tingla area of the Solukhumbu District, is nearing completion, with a 95 percent physical progress. Developed by the Lower Solu Khola Hydropower Company Limited, the project has seen significant construction milestones, including the installation of generators and turbines, along with the creation of headboxes, powerhouses, and tunnel routes.
The aim is to commence commercial production by September 2025. The construction of the project’s transmission line is over 80 percent complete. The construction of the project began in August 2016.
Once operational, the hydropower plant is projected to generate a minimum of 23 megawatts during the winter and up to 82 megawatts during the rainy season. The electricity produced will be connected to the national grid through the Tingla substation.
