World Bank has forecasted that the GDP growth of Bangladesh will be 6.9 percent in FY 2022/23.
The bank made the projection in its “Global Economic Prospects” report released on Wednesday. According to the report, Bangladesh is projected to grow by 6.4 percent in the current fiscal year and 6.9 percent in the next fiscal year.
The report states that the goal of GDP growth can be achieved only if the omicron variant (coronavirus) doesn’t lead to the need for more mobility restrictions and weakening external demand. Bangladesh is a major exporter of readymade garments.
