Bank of Kathmandu Reports Fall In Net Profit By 22 Percent

Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) has reported a decline in net profit by 22 percent in the fiscal year 2076/77. The bank earned a net profit of Rs 1.48 Arba. In the previous fiscal year 2075/76, BOK had earned a net profit of Rs 1.9 Arba .

 The profit of bank has fallen due to decrease in the net interest income along with increase in the provision for possible losses. The bank has kept Rs 53.77 crores as the provision for possible losses, up from Rs 6.46 crores in the previous year. Similarly, the net interest income has declined by 5.5 percent to Rs 3.58 Arba. Due to this, the operating profit of BOK has plunged by more than 22.50 percent to Rs 2.12 Arba. Likewise, the distributable profit of the bank stood at Rs 88 crores.

Bank of Kathmandu has a current paid-up capital of Rs 8.55 Arba with Rs 5.76 Arba in reserve and surplus. Until Ashad end 2077, BOK has a deposit collection (from customers) of Rs 92.1 Arba and floated loans & advances of Rs 75.92 Arba.
