Land Acquisition For Chainpur Seti Hydroelectric Project (210 MW) Begins

The construction work of Chainpur Seti Hydroelectric Project, which is considered an important project of the far-western region, has started. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started the process of land acquisition for the construction of the 210 MW project.

NEA has started the construction process four years after the study of the project started. NEA aims to complete the construction of this semi-reservoir project within the next five years.

The reservoir of the project will be constructed near the confluence of Seti River and Ghatganga river in Kandagaun of Saipal rural municipality.

The construction of the access road, campsite, and site of the powerhouse to be built in Talkot will start as soon as the land is acquired.

Chainpur Seti Hydroelectric Project is a Peaking Run-of-River type hydropower project. The project will generate 1133.72 GWh of electricity annually. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 36.54 billion excluding the bank interest.
