Foreign Investment Of Rs. 24 Billion Pledged

In the last four months of the current Fiscal Year 2078/79, Nepal has received about Rs. 24 billion in foreign investment (FDI) commitment.

According to the Department of Industry, foreign investment commitment of Rs. 23.82 billion has been made through 110 different projects from Shrawan to Karthik. This is Rs 4.11 billion more than the corresponding period of the previous year. In the same period last year, foreign investment commitment of Rs. 19.70 billion for 100 projects was made.

Despite the rise in the commitment of foreign investment, most of the project’s commitment is focused on Kathamndu. In the last four months of the current fiscal year, 63 industries have expressed commitment to invest Rs. 10.34 billion in Kathmandu which is 43 percent of the total foreign investment.
