Karnali State Government Brings A Budget Of Rs 33.74 Billion

Karnali state government has brought a budget of Rs. 33.74 billion for the coming fiscal year 2077/78. Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prakash Jwala presented a budget of Rs 33.74 billion in the Karnali State Assembly on Monday.

The state government has allocated Rs. 11.67 billion for current expenditure and Rs. 19.69 billion for capital expenditure. Minister Jwala said that the budget includes the grant received from the federal government, the amount received from revenue distribution, special grant and supplementary budget and internal revenue.

The budget comprises of Rs 300.6 million from internal revenue for the coming Fiscal Year, Rs 11.19 billion unexpended budget of the current Fiscal Year, Rs. 7.40 billion from revenue sharing from the Federal Government, Rs. 9.53 billion from Financial Equalization Grant and Rs 4.49 billion conditional grant.

Karnali government has prepared the budget by estimating to receive Rs 252.5 million grant and Rs 460 million as the special grant from the federal government. Similarly, Minister Jwala said that the government will mobilize Rs 176.15 million resources for foreign aid programs.

The Karnali government has stated that the budget will give priority to the prevention, control and treatment of corona. The state government has allocated Rs. 874.1 million for the control and prevention of COVID and Rs. 2.58 billion for job creation under COVID for the coming year, while the government has allocated Rs. 8.51 billion for other programs and administrative expenses.
