Lumbini Province Second In GDP Growth: NPC

National Planning Commission ( NPC) has estimated that the gross domestic product (GDP ) of Lumbini Province will increase to 3.9 percent in the current fiscal year. According to the data released by NPC, the growth of GDP in Lumbini Province will improve 3.9 percent in the current fiscal year as compared to the negative 1.8 percent in the previous fiscal year 2076-77. With this, Lumbini has the best GDP growth rate, after the Bagmati State. Bagmati has a estimated growth rate of 4.7 percent.
According to the Planning Commission, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Lumbini Province is estimated to be Rs 596 billion in the current fiscal year. The revised estimate for the last fiscal year is Rs. 550 billion. Agriculture Sector has the highest contribution of 31.9 percent to the GDP. The Planning Commission estimates that Lumbini province will contribute 14 percent in the national GDP in the current fiscal year.
