July 18, 2019 | Investopaper

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has lost his second position in the list of world’s richest man to French billionaire Bernard Arnault. Bernard Arnault is the CEO of luxury goods maker LVMH which has powerful brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Givenchy under its belt.

The top position is still held by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos although he paid a huge sum of money to his ex-wife for the divorce settlement. The net worth of Bezos is $125 billion. Similarly, Arnault net worth stands at $108 billion going past Gates who have $107 billion. Arnauld net worth increased by $39 billion in the past year.

Bill Gates would be in the pole position in the billionaire list if he had not involved himself in the philanthropic giving. He has donated more than $35 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
