92,659 People Employed Through Prime Minister’s Employment Program

So far, 92,659 people have been employed in the current fiscal year 2077/78 through the Prime Minister’s Employment Program. In the current fiscal year, the national target is to provide employment to at least 2 lakh people for a minimum of 100 days. However, less than half of the target have received employment in the ten month period for an average of 16 days. 

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security is confident that the government’s national target of providing employment to at least 200,000 people for 100 days will be met. 

The budget released by the ministry does not seem to be spent at the local level. According to the ministry, an amount of Rs 7.35 billion  has been distributed to the local level in two phases. At current, PM employment programs have been operating in 743 local levels. 10 local levels have yet to start the program.
