Singati Hydropower Set To Connect 25 MW To National Grid

Singati Hydropower Project, built on the Singati River in Dolakha, is set to add 25 MW to the national grid. The project, which could not be connected to the national transmission line even 15 months after its completion, is now in the final stages of preparation.

The power generation structure of the project was ready in Falgun, 2076 BS. The project was planned to be connected to the national transmission line through Singati-Lamosanghu (40 km) 132 kV transmission line. But Nepal Electricity Authority could not build the transmission line on time.

About Rs. 5.5 billion has been spent for the construction of the project. The project has been completed with the investment of 9 banks under the leadership of Civil Bank. The cost per megawatt of the project is around Rs. 220 million. The project aims to sell electricity worth Rs. 720 million annually.
