Poor Citizens Consuming Upto 20 Units To Receive Free Electricity

Pampha Bhusal, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, has announced to provide free electricity to the poor consumers consuming up to 20 units. She informed that the Board of Directors of Nepal Electricity Authority has already made a decision for this and is preparing to implement it within a month. 

Similarly, the Ministry is going to expedite the construction work of the projects under construction. Among the projects under construction are Rasuwagadhi 111 MW, Sanjen 57 MW, Madhyabhotekoshi 102 MW, Trishuli 3B 37 MW, Rahughat 40 MW and Tanahu Seti 140 MW. 

The ministry has also announced a plan to fully electrify all the districts within two years. 

A program has been put forward to promote semi-reservoir and reservoir-based projects in each province through the Electricity Authority and to construct solar projects in two provinces. 

Energy Minister Bhusal said, “Tamor 756 MW, Dudhkoshi 635 MW, Sunkoshi-3566 MW, Budhigandaki 1200 MW, Nalsinggadh 410 MW, Naumure 245 MW, Madi Dang diversion West Seti 750 MW will generate electricity.”
