Chilime Hydropower To Construct Seti River-3 Hydropower Project (SR-3) In Bajhang

Chilime Hydropower Company Limited is going to construct the semi-reservoir Seti River-3 hydropower project (SR-3) in Bajhang district. The company is preparing the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report of the project. Chilime Engineering and Services Company Limited is preparing the EIA report.
The project has issued a notice and requested the concerned agencies to give written opinion/suggestions within seven days.
A reservoir will be constructed by building a 14 meters high and 67 meters long dam near Pankot in Jayaprithvi Municipality. The water will be pumped into a 153-meter long underground power plant with the help of turbines and generators to produce 87 megawatts of electricity. The water will be pumped back into the Seti River through the tailrace tunnel.
The energy generated from the project will be connected to the proposed Chainpur sub-station.
Chilime Hydropower Project is a subsidiary company of Nepal Electricity Authority. The company operates a 22.1 MW project in Rasuwa district. It is also currently constructing Rasuwagadhi (111 MW), Upper Sanjen (14.8 MW), and Sanjen (42.5 MW) Hydropower Project.
