Shivam Cements Proposes 9 Percent Dividend

Shivam Cements Ltd. (SHIVM) has declared a dividend to its shareholders. The dividend announcement is from the fiscal year 2080/81.

The board meeting of the company held on Mangsir 27, 2081 BS has proposed a 9 percent dividend to the shareholders. The total dividend includes an 8.55 percent bonus share and and a 0.45  percent cash dividend (for tax purposes).

As of Ashad’s end 2081 BS, the company has a paid-up capital of Rs 5.02 Arba. At this capital, the total dividend amounts to Rs 45.24 crores.

The dividend is subject to approval from its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

From the previous fiscal year 2079/80, the company had provided a 15 percent dividend, including a 14.25 percent bonus share and 0.75 percent cash dividend to the shareholders.

Shivam Cement was founded in the year 2003. It began commercial production from the year 2011 and is the largest manufacturing Greenfield project in Nepal. It is currently producing 3000 TPD cement and 1900 TPD clinker from the company’s self owned limestone quarries. Shivam Cement Private Limited was converted into Public Limited Company in the year 2015.

    Not sure why to invest in a company that does not give share dividends to its investors. Getting cash dividend on share face-value is peanuts. Any long term investors would refrain from getting these shares. Also not sure why people would buy SHIVM shares!?
