Employees Provident Fund To Invest In Tamakoshi-V Project (99.8 MW)

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed for investment in the Tamakoshi-V Hydropower Project. The project is to be constructed in Dolakha with an installed capacity of 99.8 MW.
The MoU was signed between Nepal Electricity Authority, project promoter Tamakoshi Hydropower Company and Employees Provident Fund in the presence of Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal on Sunday. NEA Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya, Chief Executive Officer of the company Nasivaman Pradhan, and Fund Administrator Tulasi Prasad Gautam have signed the MoU.
The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 16 billion. EPF will invest about Rs 11.34 billion in the project. The remaining amount of the project will be injected through equity.
Tamakoshi V will have four units with a capacity of 25 MW. Based on the total cost of the project, the cost per megawatt is only Rs. 160 million. The project will generate 540 gigawatt hours of energy annually.
