Shrestha Energy Solutions To Develop 13 MW Upper Seti-1 Hydropower Project In Kaski

Shrestha Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is planning to construct a 13 MW Upper Seti-1 Hydropower Project in Kaski district of Gandaki Province.
The Department of Electricity Development is preparing to grant the construction license of the project to the promoter company on the basis of the environmental impact assessment report and study report of the project approved by the Ministry of Forest and Environment.
Before issuing the license, the department has sought opinions and suggestions from the concerned stakeholders about the adverse effects that may occur during the construction and operation of the project. The department had requested the stakeholders to send their opinions and suggestions within 35 days from the date of issue of the notice.
The dam site of the project will be located on the border of Ward No. 2 and 3 of Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality. Similarly, the power plant will be on the left bank of the Seti River, in Ward No. 19 of Pokhara Metropolitan City.
The water will be transported from the dam to the power plant through a 4055 meter long headrace pipe. Water will be poured into 3 turbines connected to the power house and electricity will be generated through 3 generators connected to the turbines.
The project will produce 83.61 gigawatt hours of electricity annually. The generated electricity will be connected to the Lahachowk substation of Nepal Electricity Authority, which is 3.5 km away from the project.
The company plans to complete the construction work of the project by 2082 BS.
