Upper Syange Khola Small Hydropower Project (2.4 MW) to Generate Commercial Electricity from First Week of Poush

The 2.4 MW electricity generated from Upper Syange Khola Small Hydropower Project will be connected to the national transmission line from the first week of Poush. The project, located at Marsyangdi Rural Municipality, Syangenadi of Lamjung district, will generate 14.61 GWh electricity annually, including 11.74 GWh in wet season and 2.86 GWh in dry season.
The project, developed by Upper Syange Hydropower Limited, was completed four years after the start of construction. It will start generating electricity from the first week of Poush. The electricity produced from the project will be connected to the Khudi substation at a distance of 12 kilometers from the project through a 33 KV transmission line.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 46.10 crores which means the per MW cost is Rs 19.21 crores.
The company has signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority on October 1, 2015 (Ashwin 14, 2072 BS). Likewise, the hydropower had also completed Financial Closure as per PPA on June 4, 2019 (Jestha 21, 2076 BS).
