Financial Management for 70 MW Dudh Koshi 2 (Jaleshwar) Hydropower Project Completed

Laxmi Sunrise Bank, under its leadership, will provide loan financing to 70 MW Dudh Koshi 2 (Jaleshwar) hydropower project. A financial management agreement has been reached between the bank and Dudh Koshi Hydropower Nepal Pvt. Ltd, the promoter company of the project.

Laxmi Sunrise Bank heads the funding group, with Everest Bank as co-leader and Sanima Bank as a main partner. The banks will cover 70 percent of the total expected costs i.e. Rs. 10.5 billion. The remaining 30 percent will be injected through equity. The total estimated cost for the project is Rs. 15 billion.

Dudh Koshi Hydropower Nepal got a license to construct the project from the Department of Electricity Development in Ashwin 7, 2077 BS. Then, in Mangsir 6, 2078 BS, it signed a deal to sell electricity to the Nepal Electricity Authority.

The project is a semi-storage hydropower project on the Dudh Koshi River in Solukhumbu district, Nepal.

The major promoters of the company include Aayu Malun Hydropower Ltd., Kadam KC, Kiran Mall, among others.

The project is expected to be completed by July 2029. It will produce about 417 GWh of electricity annually.
