219 Companies Listed In NEPSE, Commercial Banks Occupy 37.7 Percent Of Total Market Cap

As of Mid-July 2021 [Ashad’s end, 2078 BS], altogether 219 companies are listed in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). The total listed companies includes 147 financial institutions, 19 manufacturing and processing companies, five hotels and tourism sector companies, four trading companies, 5 investment companies, 40 hydropower and three companies from other sectors.
At Mid-July 2021 (Ashad’s end, 2078 BS), the total market capitalization of NEPSE stood at Rs 4.01 trillion. Of the total, the 26 commercial banks listed on Nepse have the market cap of Rs 1.51 trillion. This is almost 37.7 percent of the total market capitalization of Nepse. Likewise, the insurance companies have the combined market value of Rs 614.73 billion which is 15.3 percent of the total market capitalization of Nepse.
