CoronaVirus death rate is 3.4%, reports WHO

Corona Virus (COVID-19) has claimed the life of 3.4 percent out of the total reported cases globally. As per the world health officials, the death from the virus exceeds the previous estimates of about 2 percent.
During the press briefing at the headquarters in Geneva on Monday, WHO officials stated that the mortality rate of COVID-19 is 3.4% globally. “We do not know how this virus behaves. This virus is not influenza” WHO Director-General Tedros said on the briefing.
The number of patients infected from the coronavirus outbreak has already surpassed 92,000 globally. This has claimed deaths of more than 3,000. US has recently confirmed 9 deaths from the virus out of the total 108 cases. Likewise, COVID-19 has caused 79 deaths in Italy.
