After the enactment of the Communications Corporation Act 2028, Nepal Telecommunications Corporation was formally established as a fully owned Government Corporation in 2032 B.S. Nepal Telecommunication Corporation was transformed into Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NDCL) from Baisakh 1, 2061. Nepal Doorsanchar Company is popularly known to the general public as ‘Nepal Telecom (NTC)’.

Nepal Telecom has consistently provided attractive dividends to the shareholders. However, the dividend distribution has been only in the form of cash. The company has provided the dividend ranging from 25 percent to 55 percent over the years.
